NEW How Did I Do Application and Website from 12th January 2026

Background

As many of you know, Club Systems provide our ClubV1 platform, which supports competitions, handicaps and general club management. They also operate the HowDidiDo service.
Members use these applications for many reasons including tee booking, competition sign in and score return to name a few.
Club Systems are now merging HowDidiDo with the ClubV1 Members Hub to create a single service with new features and a more consistent member experience.
The first stage of this change is the release of a new HowDidiDo application and website, scheduled for 12th January 2026.

What this means for members

• Shortly after the 12th January, the existing HowDidiDo application will no longer function. It will be replaced by a new version.
• The new application will carry an annual subscription fee for those who choose to use it.
• The HowDidiDo website will remain free of charge and will incorporate the features from the ClubV1 Members Hub and more.
• The ClubV1 Members Hub application itself remains unchanged at this stage.

Registration process

Once launched, whether you choose to use the Website only moving forward or the new Application, you will need to re-register for the new HowDidiDo. The process has been simplified:

• Visit the How Did I Do Website - www.howdidido.com.
• Enter the email address linked to your ClubV1 record.
• A one-time passcode will be sent to that email.
• Enter the passcode into HowDidiDo and you will be connected to Bracken Ghyll, as well as any other clubs you belong to that use ClubV1.

This only needs to be done once, although you may occasionally be asked to confirm with another passcode.

You can access the service via www.howdidido.com.

Subscription options for the new application

If you wish to use the new app, it will be available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Club Systems have confirmed the following options:

  1. £2.99 per year for the standard app (with adverts, similar to the current version).
  2. £9.99 per year for the advert-free app.

Payment will be taken directly through the app stores.

Is the new platform better?

I attended a recent webinar where Club Systems demonstrated the new platform. It has been redesigned based on player feedback, and first impressions are positive. The site and app appear more modern and responsive.
Ultimately, the choice is yours: you may continue using the free website, or opt for the paid app if you prefer.

Final thoughts

I appreciate that introducing a charge may be disappointing for some members. Please remember that the website remains free to use, and the club will continue to support you in accessing the services you need.

I will keep this page updated with the latest information:

If you have thoughts or feedback, please email our appsupport (due to how bots farm email adddresses it is not listed here - please use the appsupport@ our club domain name) email address or contact one of your club directors. While I cannot provide one-to-one technical support for every member, I will do my best to ensure clear guidance is available online.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we adapt to these changes together.

Kind regards,

Alex Mawson

HowDidiDo FAQs

  1. When will the new HowDidiDo platform be launched?

Monday 12th January 2026. All members of golf clubs that use Club Systems software will be able to download the new app (note the new annual charges) and access the new website (FOC) from this date forward.

  1. Is the new app just an update of the current one, or will members have to download a separate new app?
The new HowDidiDo app is a completely new, separate application, built from the ground-up in order to make significant improvements to the software. Therefore, all members and current users will have to download the new app via either the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play store (Android) after the launch date.

  2. What will happen to the old HowDidiDo?
It will be discontinued; however this will not take place straight away. We are hoping to turn off the old app and website as soon as we are confident the new one is performing sufficiently. We will make sure this is communicated with members in due course.

  3. Is the new HowDidiDo replacing ClubV1 Members Hub?
Yes, the new app is combing features from both the old HowDidiDo and ClubV1 Members Hub apps, therefore they will both be discontinued in time. The ClubV1 Members Hub will not be switched off immediately, instead will run alongside the new app until later notice.

  4. Will members have to re-register for the new HowDidiDo?
Yes, however once members have downloaded the new app, the registration process is quick and simple - all users have to do is use their existing email address (the one used by the club) and link to the golf club(s) they are a member of.

  5. Will current (old) HowDidiDo round data be moved across to the new platform?
Yes, we understand that golfers are very precious about their scores! Every user's data dating back to 2010 will be migrated across for players to view and enjoy.

  6. Is there a cost to use the new mobile app?
Yes, the new HowDidiDo app will cost £2.99 per year each for the standard application or £9.99 per year for the Ad Free version. This will be charged via your respective App Store (Apple / Google)

  7. Why is the new app going to cost when it has been free to use for over 20 years?
The old platform was outdated and tired - hence the complete re-build, but naturally this process has been lengthy and costly given the amount of data and features HowDidiDo has - plus we're not done yet! The new platform gives us so much more opportunity to build more new features and upkeep the number one golf member app.

  8. Will the new HowDidiDo have adverts?
Yes, but only on the 'Standard version' app paid for by members (£2.99 per year) and on the website. Members can choose to remove the ads in the app by upgrading to the ad-free version (£9.99 per year).

  9. Can I still use the website HowDidiDo.com for free?
Yes. The HowDidiDo website remaining is completely free-to-use for all users but will have adverts displayed on it. There is a way to add a link to the HDID Website as an Icon on your Smartphone / Tablet Desktop

  10. Has the HowDidiDo app been tested by golfers/clubs ahead of launch?
It is being rolled out ahead of the main launch through a BETA testing period; a number of select clubs have been chosen to test it.
